Rose Murray Brown
Rose Murray Brown Master of Wine is Scotland’s leading award-winning drinks journalist, working as The Scotsman’s weekly drinks columnist and expert for the past 34 years. She also writes for international trade and consumer magazines and broadcasts on radio, she worked as wine expert for the popular BBC Radio Scotland Kitchen Cafe programme - and has won The Glenfiddich whisky writing award and been finalist for the Harpers Summit French Wine Critic and Champagne Louis Roederer wine writing awards on several occasions. She also presented a 13 part series on food and wine for Tyne Tees/Yorkshire TV – and has judged at competitions from China to Chile.
Rose focuses on consumer education, consumer journalism and wine tourism. In the UK she hosts a programme of consumer wine courses, wine masterclasses, fine wine dinners, charity tastings, virtual tastings, team building days and corporate entertainment events. She is currently hosting a series of virtual wine tastings focusing on Central & Eastern European countries. She also works as a wine consultant for several leading companies, marketing and hotel groups.
Rose has been organising and hosting her own bespoke wine tours for consumers, conducting over 30 different consumer group wine tours across the wine world. In her spare time, Rose is also an active charity fundraiser, creating Comic Relief Wine Fair, a bi-annual wine fair which has now run seven times and raised thousands of pounds for Wine Relief. Rose is a certified wine educator; member of the Institute of Masters of Wine, Association of Wine Educators and Circle of Wine Writers.
